Zooarchaeological Services

PARC offers zooarchaeological identification services to archaeological and environmental firms, professional researchers, and government agencies throughout North America. PARC zooarchaeologist, Jason Titcomb, has ten years of professional archaeological experience. His zooarchaeological analyses include taxonomic classification, element and side identification, taphonomic assessment and quantification (i.e., MNI and NISP). His consultantions include both analysis and technical write-up and his services are ideal for project planning and at the time of proposal preparation. His extensive background in archaeology, comparative anatomy, and zooarchaeological comparison are essential for maximizing client budgetary resources. He is able to structure cost-efficient research that can be completed within time and budgetary constraints. Jason maintains a large reference collection that allows him to identify fish, reptiles, small and large mammals, and birds. He also is able to identify local freshwater mollusks and non-local marine shell remains.
