Services PARC offers paleobotanical services for professional researchers. PARC's archaeobotanist, Curtis Nepstad-Thornberry, has ten years of professional experience conducting archaeobotanical research on assemblages from areas west of the Mississippi River including the Great Plains, the Upper Midwest, the Southwest, the Great Basin, the Rocky Mountains, and California. His work includes analysis of macrobotanical samples and charcoal specimens for a number of clients, including private contracting firms, university researchers, government agencies, and non-profit groups. His services include both analysis, species identification, and report write-up. He also assists with project planning and has been involved in proposal preparation for numerous projects. Because of his extensive background in archaeology, paleobotany, and quantitative analysis, he is able to maximize client resources by structuring cost-efficient research that can be completed on time and within budgetary constraints. PARC's staff follows standardized sample processing procedures and clean-room laboratory protocols. Curtis regularly employs analytic procedures that facilitate comparative analyses and maintains a large reference collection that includes wild and domesticated plants and wood from throughout North America.
